Jeffrey A. Bayer, Principal
Jeffrey Bayer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the The University of Alabama. He has obtained the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM), and is a licensed Real Estate Broker. In addition to experience and expertise in the real estate profession, Mr. Bayer has completed all course work toward a Master of Arts in Urban Planning in order to be effectively involved in real estate projects embracing the Planned Unit Development (P.U.D.) concept.
Prior to founding Bayer Properties, L.L.C., Mr. Bayer served as a partner of Metropolitan Properties, Inc. for ten years. In 1983, Mr. Bayer established Bayer Properties, L.L.C. with the goal to provide comprehensive leasing, management, brokerage, and development services. The leasing and management portfolio has grown to 4 million square feet of commercial, industrial and retail space including The Summit - Birmingham and The Summit - Louisville.

David L. Silverstein, Principal
David Silverstein received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in 1981, where he was a member of the Cumberland Law Review.
Mr. Silverstein was a partner at the law firm of Berkowitz, Lefkovits, Isom, and Kushner, joining the firm in 1981 and serving as outside counsel to Bayer for seven years. His practice concentrated in the acquisition, financing, leasing, management, and development of commercial real estate projects. He frequently acted as local counsel to out-of-state lenders in connection with the financing of commercial real estate projects in Alabama.
Mr. Silverstein is the principal in charge of managing Bayer’s relationships with governmental entities around the country. He is a recognized leader in the Birmingham civic community and holds leadership positions with a number of prominent organizations including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Kiwanis and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Jill V. Deer, Principal
Jill Deer earned her Juris Doctor degree from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1988 and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from The University of Alabama in 1985 and graduated summa cum laude.
Ms. Deer joined Bayer Properties, L.L.C. as General Counsel and Vice President of Development in 1999 and was named General Counsel and Senior Vice President in 2001. She became a Principal in 2002.
Prior to her association with Bayer Properties, L.L.C., Ms. Deer was a partner in the law firm of Burr & Forman, LLP for 11 years where she became specialized in real estate, banking and finance.
Ms. Deer is very involved in the community through her children and through organizations which are meaningful to her. She is currently serving as president of the board for the Bell Center for Early Intervention, and she has been a board member for Girls Inc. of Central Alabama since 2000. Ms. Deer has also been a member of The Women's Network since 1999. Previously, she served as Legislative Chair for the Mountain Brook Elementary School PTA (2004-2005) and as a member of the City of Mountain Brook Finance Committee (2002-2003).

Susan Fitzgibbon, Executive Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Susan Fitzgibbon has eight years experience in retail finance with publicly traded companies. Prior to joining Bayer Properties in 2001, Ms. Fitzgibbon was Vice President and CFO of Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc. for five years and was employed by Bruno's Inc. in various roles for three years.
As Vice President and CFO of Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc., a sporting goods retailer operating 282 stores, Ms. Fitzgibbon was instrumental in executing Hibbett's strategy of providing full-line sporting goods to small and mid-sized national markets. During her time at Hibbett (1996-2001), stores grew from 70 to 275.
Ms. Fitzgibbon served as Controller for Bruno's Supermarkets, Inc. In addition to overseeing a 60-person Accounting Department, she was responsible for Bruno's investor relations, financial marketing, cash management, strategic planning, financial reporting, budgeting and analysis. Ms. Fitzgibbon began her career at Arthur Anderson, LLP where she provided financial audit and advisory services to retail, manufacturing and regulated industry clients. Ms. Fitzgibbon earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Auburn University in 1986. She is a member of AICPA and the Alabama Society for CPA's.
When she is not occupied by numbers and spreadsheets, Ms. Fitzgibbon shares her creative side through her community involvement. She is currently serving as a board member for Operation New Birmingham's Magic City Art Connection. She is a part of the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division Audit and Stewardship Committee. Ms. Fitzgibbon also serves as a member of Auburn University's College of Business Advisory Council. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.

Libby Lassiter, Executive Vice President Retail Development
Libby Lassiter has more than 20 years of retail leasing and management experience. She was most recently associated with General Growth Properties, Inc., in Chicago, Illinois, as Senior Vice President for Retail Redevelopment.
Other positions during her 10 years with General Growth have included Senior Vice President Asset Management East Region, Senior Vice President Asset Management Third Party Business Group, and Senior Vice President of Leasing, among others.
Prior to joining General Growth, Ms. Lassiter was with The Rubin Organization, now P.R.E.I.T., in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as Carter & Associates and Ben Carter Properties in Atlanta, Georgia, and Jacksonville, Florida.
At Bayer Properties, Ms. Lassiter will oversee leasing, design and construction, and site selection for The Summit lifestyle centers and the company's other mixed-use projects.

David Fields, Executive Vice President / Chief Administrative Officer
David Fields received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his law degree from Harvard Law School.
Mr. Fields was with The Irvine Company in Irvine, California, for 17 years. He most recently held the position of Vice President and General Counsel for their retail properties division which manages more than eight million square feet of commercial retail property. Prior to his association with The Irvine Company, Mr. Fields worked for a Los Angeles law firm as counsel to one of the nation's largest real estate investment funds.
At Bayer Properties, Mr. Fields directs the design and construction division and manages the administrative and human resources functions. Additionally, he focuses on resource allocation and coordination across multiple projects as the company continues to expand nationally.
Mr. Fields has established himself as an active community leader having served as a founding trustee of Sage Hill School, Orange County California's first independent non-denominational high school; President of the Orange County Chapter of 100 Black Men of America; chair of the California State Bar's 6000-member Real Property Law Section; and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

Jon W. Rotenstreich, Principal
Mr. Rotenstreich is a financial consultant and private investor through his own firm, Jon Rotenstreich Consultants, L.L.C..
From 1993 until April 1999, Mr. Rotenstreich was Chairman and CEO of TIG Holdings, Inc. a NYSE financial holding company.
Mr. Rotenstreich served as President and Director of Torchmark Corporation, a NYSE life and health insurance holding company, from 1986 to 1991. Mr. Rotenstreich was also President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Torchmark's 85% owned subsidiary United Investors Management Company, now Waddell & Reed Financial.
From 1982-1986, Mr. Rotenstreich served as Vice President & Treasurer of IBM.
Mr. Rotenstreich was with Salomon Brothers, which he joined on 1965. In 1972 he became a General Partner and a Managing Director upon the firm's incorporation in 1981.
